Profollica is a men's hair growth package, similar to Rogaine. It includes a shampoo and a gel, both of which are advertised to reduce hair loss and improve hair growth. It is only for men. Unlike others, it is a complete system of products rather than only one. Here is a short list of pros and cons.
A Comprehensive Treatment
The inclusion of both a shampoo and a gel in Profollica is important. They have separate functions that combine to meet the product's goal. The shampoo makes it easier for hair to grow and. The gel keeps hair from falling out. It does this by reducing the amount of a certain chemical that is present on the scalp. This chemical, called DHT, makes hair fall out when there is too much of it. The two products work together to save hair. The combination is a definite plus, but it also has a downside to consider.
Some Dedication Required
The Profollica website says that within weeks, Profollica can improve hair and reduce hair loss. This is not exactly true; many reviews have stated otherwise. Profollica is almost useless unless it is used for over a month, possibly many months. Even one of the testimonials on the Profollica site refers to using the product for "only" a couple months. But the treatment is not a simple deal and might not work if applied incorrectly. Using it for many months is at best annoying, at worst a deal-breaker. Additionally, the longer it takes, the more money you'll be shelling out.
Many Benefits
Profollica is, according to the official website, good for a lot of things. It increases new hair growth and makes it healthier. It increases the amount of nutrients available for hair, making it better. It keeps the scalp from making too much oil, preventing greasy-looking hair. It adds vitamins that prevent hair loss to the body. It makes hair stronger and keeps it from aging prematurely. It hydrates the scalp, prevents scalp itchiness, and protects against sun damage. And after all this the website adds that Profollica can still do "much more." Is that really so accurate?
Too Good To Be True
How much of that really means anything? Any old drugstore shampoo will hydrate and protect your scalp. Even hotel shampoos do such basic things as promoting follicle (the small pores from which hair grows) health. And simply massaging the scalp with fingers increases blood flow. You don't need a shampoo for that. The Profollica website claims to increase the health of body hair as well. A treatment applied to the skin in specific places just won't do that- unless they expect you to put it all over your body too. Even if the product works, the website makes some impossible claims.
In short, Profollica isn't a scam, but it also isn't a dream come true. Unless other treatments already failed you, save your money for something more reliable.
